Creating a Shopify sandbox for a merchant to conduct testing before receiving live credentials is possible, and to be executed by app engineers only, but this article serves as a guide for clarity into the process for onboarders.
In order for a Shopify sandbox to function correctly, the entity ID needs to be linked to a checkout created in the live environment.
To simulate this environment, we create a blank console profile in the Live Console (exactly the same way as we did when creating sandboxes in the Test Console) to link the sandbox to.
Step 1: Create sandbox in test console
Step 2: Create blank console setup (fill merchant name and create checkout channel only)
Step 3: Link Shopify sandbox entity ID to the live checkout channel
Step 4: Send the merchant credentials for the live console setup
Please note:
This is only an overview into a process executed by app engineers only - if a Shopify sandbox is required, send a request to support@peachpayments.com
