This article's purpose is to explain why adding new One and Only Cape Town users for Paysafe channel access can be problematic.

One and Only are a 'special case' merchant, in that:

  • their merchant name in the BIP vs. Paysafe differ: BIP = One and Only vs. Paysafe = One & Only
  • they insisted on the ampersand as it is a part of their brand, but the BIP doesn't allow for special characters to be used in the merchant name
  • Paysafe does allow for it, so we edited the Paysafe 'merchant name' to include it
  • this created a disparity between the two linked systems, whereby when a new user that we added in the BIP attempted to log in to Paysafe, an entirely new Paysafe profile was created that had 'and' in its merchant name, rather than recognizing the existing edited Paysafe profile with the '&'
  • essentially, the two systems could not reconcile that the BIP "One and Only..." channel and its edited Paysafe counterpart "One & Only..." were the same profiles
  • because of this, when we get a request for new users to be added from O&O, we have to make sure the new user profiles on the backend database is added/linked to the relevant Paysafe account before sending out access details, to prevent the above from happening

Having understood the above, once you add new users to the BIP, before you send out Passwords for Paysafe access to the new users, you need to ask #product-support to add their BIP User IDs to the respective Paysafe Database channel ID, so as to avoid the duplication of Paysafe accounts.

Where can I find the User ID?

You can find it by clicking on the user you added, in the BIP:

I have also added an Excel Template for ease of information translation between Ops and Product below.
