How to determine what the issuing bank is

Follow

There are two options to check what the issuing bank (the client's bank) is, and other details such as the card brand (e.g. Visa or MasterCard), and if it is a debit card or debit card.

Option 1:

Search for the BIN (the first 6 digits of each card) using some BIN lookup URLs from the web. Two URLs that you may use are:

https://binlists.com/

http://www.exactbins.com/

Option 2:

You can also use the BIP to check for the issuing bank. but this usually mostly for local banks. On the BIP, you search for the transaction ID, and once found, you click on this.

A side-window will pop up, then you go to the tab "Connector Result", and scroll to where it says "Issuer". This is the issuing bank.
