We’d like to update you on the authorisation issues reported by us yesterday - with certain FNB cards, attempted authorisations are being rejected, whereas FNB incorrectly reserves the funds on the card anyway.
We’ve continued to escalate the issue and have urged Nedbank to push FNB for an immediate solution. We’ll pass on any updates to you as soon as we receive them.
In the meantime, FNB is releasing the authorisation holds manually, resulting in the cardholder to have the funds available. We’ve passed on all reported cases to Nedbank to arrange for that manual release and will continue to do so.

Our recommendation is that your customer service confirms to your customers that the card has indeed not been charged, but that the block on the incorrectly reserved amount will be released by FNB as soon as possible. FNB is aware of the technical issue.
